The Difference You Make
We’re proud to bring people together to support our local heroes. But don’t just take our word for it — hear from the families, friends, and community members who’ve seen firsthand the difference these events make. From helping first responders in their time of need to strengthening the bond between our departments and the community, your support truly changes lives.
It warms my heart to share how incredibly supportive KC Guns N Hoses was for my family during the hardest time in our life. When my late husband, Blake Lindbloom, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2018, it was a period filled with uncertainty and worry for us. I was juggling his care, working full-time overnight, going to school full-time during the day, along with looking after our young daughter. The emotional and financial strain felt overwhelming. The kindness and generosity shown by the members of KC Guns N Hoses were truly remarkable.
They reached out with such genuine care. They not only offered words of encouragement, but tangible help that made a real difference. Their support eased our burdens in ways I can’t fully express. My daughter felt their warmth too, and knowing there was a community rallying around us provided a sense of security during a difficult period.
KC Guns N Hoses is more than just an organization; it’s a family that steps up when you need them most. Many of their volunteers still reach out to check in on us and continue to offer emotional support even after so many years. Their compassion and dedication to helping others shine brightly, and we will forever be grateful for their kindness and support. They truly exemplify what it means to care for their community.

When your family is facing the unimaginable, the support of a community can make all the difference. Our family experienced that firsthand through the generosity and compassion of Guns N Hoses Kansas City.
When we learned that our daughter had an ultra-rare genetic disorder, our world was turned upside down. Along with the emotional impact of her diagnosis came significant financial concerns. We were facing the reality of paying for specialized therapies and formula out of pocket, while also traveling to Mayo Clinic to see some of the only physicians with expertise in her condition.
As a first responder family, we are accustomed to being there for others during their most difficult moments. It was humbling to find ourselves in need of help and even more humbling to experience the incredible support provided by Guns N Hoses. Their incredible assistance helped ease a huge part of the financial burden during a time when we were focused on learning how to care for our daughter and give her every opportunity to thrive.
The support we received was far more than financial assistance. It reminded us that we are part of a community that truly takes care of its own. Knowing that others were standing beside us allowed us to focus on what mattered most: our daughter’s health, well-being, and future.
We will always be grateful to Guns N Hoses Kansas City for the kindness, generosity, and hope they provided during one of the most challenging seasons of our lives.
The work they do changes lives, and our family is living proof of that.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Muniz Family
